What did the client need help with?
Pekoetea is a specialist loose-leaf tea retailer based in Edinburgh, selling online nationwide. While they had a quality product range and a loyal customer base, their website wasn’t capturing the volume of organic search traffic available for tea-related queries. With a highly competitive e-commerce landscape and rising paid advertising costs, they needed an organic search strategy that would drive sustainable traffic and sales without increasing their ad spend.
How did we help?
We developed a targeted SEO strategy focused on both product-level and informational search terms. This included optimising category and product pages for commercial intent keywords, creating educational content around tea varieties and brewing guides to capture top-of-funnel traffic, and fixing technical issues affecting crawlability and site speed. We also strengthened the site’s internal linking structure and optimised their Google Business Profile for local Edinburgh searches.
What were the results?
The results have been substantial. Organic impressions grew 52% to over 764,000, massively expanding PekoeTea’s visibility across search. In the last year, the site has generated an increase over +7,010 organic clicks and has attracted an increased 2,300 active users on key commercial landing pages through organic search alone. This means thousands of potential customers are finding PekoeTea through search every month – people actively looking for tea products who are arriving at the site ready to browse and buy. This organic growth provides a compounding return that will continue to deliver value long after the initial optimisation work.
